LOCATIONS

Welcome to the heart of Ayr, where the charm of traditional Scottish hospitality meets modern comfort at Wellingtons Lounge Bar. Nestled at 17 Wellington Square, just a stone’s throw from the bustling city center, this cozy establishment is more than just a pub; it's a community hub that beckons both locals and visitors alike.

Wellingtons Lounge Bar has cultivated a reputation as a charming spot where the atmosphere is as warm as the staff. Guests are greeted not only by friendly faces but also by an impressive selection of beverages, including locally brewed cask ales that have garnered high praise. As one patron aptly put it, it’s "probably one of the best, if not the best cask ale pub in town."

The intimate setting is accentuated by live music every Sunday and spirited pub quizzes on Wednesdays, ensuring that there’s always something fun happening. With a menu that caters to both traditional pub fare and expertly crafted drinks, it's a perfect place to unwind before an event, much like Mr. Harris did before the StreetRave, enjoying “a few double rums” in the delightful ambiance.

Dog-friendly, welcoming, and affable, Wellingtons is a haven for those looking to relax with friends, enjoy the game on major sports channels, or engage in the vibrant local culture. Over the years, it has built a loyal following, with regulars like Jack Cowan noting its excellent atmosphere and welcoming staff. Echoed in the sentiments of other frequent visitors, it's clear that Wellingtons is a hidden gem worth discovering.

For anyone venturing to Ayr, whether for a festive night out as Karen Thomas described—complete with live guitar performances—or simply for a quality pint as Gordon Perrie highlights, Wellingtons Lounge Bar stands out as a quintessential destination. So why not stop by? You might find that it’s not just a bar; it’s a home away from home.

Went into the 'Welly' before a StreetRave event and had a few double rums. Top pub and the lady serving us was well nice.

Cracking old basement boozer in Ayr. About three ales on and the usual selection available! They have Live music every Sunday and a pub quiz on a Wednesday. Friendly service behind the bar. It’s dog friendly too. Shows both the major sports channels. Open from 12pm daily!! I’d recommend this traditional boozer!

Probably one of the best, if not the best cask ale pub in town. Sadly only two beers on tap when I visited, but both in excellent condition. A delightful traditional style pub, very cozy & in a convenient location close to the bus station & centre of town. A lovely atmosphere, with warm friendly staff serving two locally brewed ales, perfect. No generic offerings here. Recommended
